A daddy's girl, through and through

This is my favorite picture of my dad and I.

I remember Ben and I were so scared when we were driving up for Ben to ask him for my hand. We kept calling my mom and saying "Is he prepared? We don't want him to have a heart attack or anything."

Ben wanted to ask him the traditional way where it was just my dad and him... but my dad had other plans haha.  We walked in the door and my dad greeted us with the biggest grin i've ever seen and threw his arms around Ben.  Then he said, "I understand you have an important question to ask me." haha way to ruin the surprise dad...

Then he ushered us all into the family room (him, Ben, my mom, and me) and began to talk about when I was a little kid.  I think he told Ben the story about how when I was little I would get his pajamas for him every night.  Then he would hold them out to his side and pretend to be a bull fighter yelling, "Toro, toro!" I would put my fingers on my head like horns and run full speed into those pajamas. This would happen a few rounds until he would scoop me up mid-run, throw me into the air and we would both scream and laugh. Haha it sounds so corny now but I was little and I loved it.

As he was sharing these stories with Ben, he began to cry. Which in turn made my mom and I cry as well. Ben held it together somehow. I was so relieved that my dad was happy for me.  And as the picture shows, he was happy on my wedding day too.

I'm so glad he was able to see me get married. I often wondered if he would because of his age. Now I wonder if he will be here to see my kids.  I hope so.  If not I know he will keep watch over them in heaven.

My dad is such a great dad to me and always has been. Even with his age and bad hearing working against him, he kept up with all the other 20 something dads.

I love my dad :)

Love Love Love
