Bountiful Baskets

...is the best thing ever.

We get a ton of fruit and veggies for $15 every week and its awesome.

Here is how it works:
Go to this website between Monday at one (Utah time) if you live north of bountiful and 4 if you live south of bountiful and Tuesday at midnight.
Find the location nearest you
Order a basket and wait for Saturday to come (Warning: Website is super slow and retarded. They are working on getting a new one)

On Saturday you...
Go to your pick up location
Hand them your receipt/tell them your name/sign for your basket
Load the fruits and veggies into your own basket or cooler
and enjoy!

The fruits and veggies change every week because you get whatever is in season. Also they try to get the food from local farmers if possible, which I like cause you know its fresh! Its cool cause it helps you to try new things and get a balanced diet.  I just meal plan after we get our bb and find meals that use all the produce. It also helps to not get stuck in dinner ruts. We have been doing it for a month now and LOVE it! We have got all our friends and family doing it too.

This is what we got this week... strawberries, apples, 4 tomatoes, 4 artichokes, 7 mangoes, 5 squash, a head of romaine lettuce, a head of broccoli, a head of celery, oranges, and bananas. My sister got the same stuff in hers along with a bag of potatoes so I think somehow we got left out of those but its still an insane deal.

Things we have gotten in the past include: corn, blackberries, asparagus, a pineapple, a canteloupe, cucumbers, zucchini, sweet potatoes, onion, and many more.

I wanted to be a good person and share this with all of you so you can save money too.

Also, I do some prep work right when we get them so that they stay fresh the whole week. Like I wash the lettuce and cut it up and put it in a bag with cold, wet paper towels and then in the fridge and it stays good all week.

I hope you all try it out!

Love Love Love

We LOVE Bountiful Baskets at our house. We got hooked on it after the first week we did it. Now I have a hard time going out and buying fruits and veggies from the store...

Have you tried the 9-grain bread yet? DELICIOUS, I highly recommend it.

This sounds awesome, I would love to do it! Do you have to do it every week? I don't know if we could eat that much every week!

Yeah we have tried the nine grain bread and I agree it is delicious. 5 loaves is just a lot at a time. It freezes well though. And Heidi, No you do not have to do it every week. You just take it a week at a time.

So I didn't even know you had a blog, what a lame sister in law I am. Glad you invited me so now I know. haha. Anyway mom was telling me all about these, I'll have to look into it. I use to do a veggie co-op but it was a lot of work. This sounds a lot better!

P.S. loved your angels landing post about Ben being a wuss!
