Old friends and an announcement

This is my friend Alyssa. We have been friends for nine years. Our friendship has survived multiple moves, fights, boys, a run in with the cops, a year of being roommates, vacations, and a marriage. We bring out the best and worst in each other.

Alyssa just got back from a four month study abroad in France. So, naturally, we needed to go to lunch to catch up and she needed to tell me all about her wonderful experience. Where did I take her, you ask? Why, The Pizza Cart, of course.

The thing I love about our friendship is that it doesn't matter how long it has been since we've seen each other, we are always able to pick up where we left off, as if nothing has changed. It was great to see her today and hear all about her experience in France. I'll have to admit, it was hard not to get jealous as she talked about her excursion to Germany during Oktoberfest or her time spent on the French Riviera, but that's where my announcement comes in. Now if you know me personally or are friends with me on facebook, then I'm sure you already know this, but for the rest of you... drumroll please...

We are going to live in France this Summer! For two months! That is seventy days of Parisian living, ten weeks of weekend trips to Italy (or Spain, or Germany, or London, or Switzerland), and one chance of a lifetime.

Now I hope to blog about the whole thing and I hope to borrow my dad's DSLR so I can show you some high quality pictures, but honestly, I'm not sure what our internet situation will be over there. I'll keep you posted. In the mean time, I'll try my best not to let it consume my life or my blog. However, if anyone has any tips or inside information that I should know, feel free to tell me about it in the comment section :).

Enough about me, how is everybody's new year going? Are you keeping up with your resolutions? I won't lie, I've been biting my nails as I've been writing this. Dang it, dang it, dang it!

When you go over, only take a little cash. The exchange rate is better if you just use your card. About Internet, unless you're staying somewhere with free Internet, you have to pay for it. Always have some coins because you usually have to pay to use the public restrooms. Also about Internet, you either buy like a time card that you can reload or you just go to an Internet cafe, but the Internet usually is suuuuuper slow at those. You have to get a crepe from one of the stands on the side of the road, also get pizza. Its delicious :) and you must get a chocolate croissant. I'm jealous. Paris is SO great!
