Baby BOY Lindsey

On Friday, I went to my 12 week prenatal appointment with my mom and sister. I thought it was just going to be a routine ultrasound and we would just see the baby--nothing new. Therefore, I also didn't Skype with my husband during it.

The baby came up on the screen and my mom thought she saw some boy parts, so she said, "It's still too early to find out the sex right?" And my midwife said, "ummm it looks like a boy." Just like that! With no other warning or anything! So, naturally, I screamed, "What!?! Are you sure?! Don't they look the same this early? Are you sure it's not the umbilical cord?!"

I was not at all mentally prepared to find out the sex of my baby that day. She assured me that it was not the umbilical cord, that they stop looking the same around 9 weeks, and that vaginal ultrasounds are a lot more accurate than the kind they do on your stomach. Then I continued to giggle through the rest of the appointment.
