I've always thought that the tradition of new year resolutions is kind of funny. People always do really well at them at first and then lose steam. My philosophy is that resolutions are like diets, they usually don't work. People tend to have a diet mentality with their resolutions, you know the "I need to eat a bunch of sweets today cause my diet starts tomorrow" mentality. I prefer leading a healthy lifestyle and eating a sweet if I want it. I also prefer to make small, realistic resolutions and take little steps each day to make them come true. Anyway, here are my resolutions for 2011:
1. Pass the tests to become a licensed personal trainer and get a job that uses it.
2. Get my yoga teacher certification and get a job teaching at least one class per week.
3. Stop biting my nails. Its time I learn to be a lady and stop this horrid habit. I've gone through phases where I've done really well, but as soon as I sit down to watch or read something intense, I start biting again. I also have a rebellious spirit in me so anytime someone (Mom or Hub) tells me to stop biting, I want to do it even more. I need to fight that.
4. Graduate college. I am on track for this to happen in May and I'd have to do something REALLY stupid to screw it up. So this one really is just on here so that at least one of my resolutions comes true.
5. Do better at having my personal scripture study everyday.
6. Do better at appreciating each new day, living life to its fullest, and being happy in my current stage of life... just in case the Mayans end up being right after all...
What are your new year resolutions?
P.S. Anyone have any book recommendations for me?

Weird! I just said, "i'm in a reading mood, but can't think of any books I want to read. I need suggestions!"
if you find any, you should post about them so I can read them too. :)
also, that picture down there with your bangs? adorable.
first of all, what kinds of books do you like? Cuz I wouldn't want to suggest something and you be like, "um, I don't really 'do' scifi Jael..." Also, we are indeed super lame for not hanging out more before I left. Now we can be internet friends. ;)
